Fair Bound

Tomorrow morning I’ll be bound for our brand new Nebraska Game and Parks Commission exhibit at the NE State Fair in Grand Island’s Fonner Park. I can’t wait to work it all day! Our free exhibit area is bigger and better than ever! Called the Nebraska Outdoor Encounter it encompasses over 15,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space in the Nebraska Building and features unique displays and interactive activities designed to get people outdoors. Take a look at a few photos of it snapped by fellow Game and Parks staff members.

You can look (or listen) for me roaming the exhibit area and answering any outdoor questions you might have. With my various hats and masks along with my wildlife calls, I have been told that I may be the closest thing we have to a Game and Parks mascot, HA! A native of Gretna, NE, a graduate of Gretna High School and Bellevue University, Greg Wagner currently serves as the Communications and Marketing Specialist and Manager for the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission's Service Center in Omaha. On a weekly basis, Wagner can be heard on a number of radio stations, seen on local television in Omaha, and on social media channels, creatively conveying natural resource conservation messages as well as promoting outdoor activities and destinations in Nebraska. Wagner, whose career at Game and Parks began in 1979, walks, talks, lives, breathes and blogs about Nebraska’s outdoors. He grew up in rural Gretna, building forts in the woods, hunting, fishing, collecting leaves, and generally thriving on constant outdoor activity. One of the primary goals of his blog is to get people, especially young ones, to have fun and spend time outside!
