Trout Family Fishing Nights Scheduled

LINCOLN – Take advantage of the March stocking of rainbow trout in waters across the state and bring the family to the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission’s Trout Family Fishing Nights.

Game and Parks will provide loaner equipment, bait and volunteer instructors. All participating lakes will be stocked with trout, and each event runs from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Just look for Game and Parks staff and the fishing trailer.

The schedule of events is as follows:

March 22 – Holmes Lake, Lincoln

March 24 – Lake Halleck, Papillion; Rotary Club Lake, Auburn

March 25 – Stanton Lake, Falls City; Barnett Park Lake, McCook

March 26 – Golf Course Lake, Curtis

March 27 – City Park Lake, Humboldt; Lake Ogallala State Recreation Area (SRA), Ogallala

April 1 – Heartwell Park Lake, Hastings

April 2 – Auble Pond, Ord

April 3 – Fort Kearny SRA Lake No. 2, Kearney

A park entry permit is required at Lake Ogallala and Fort Kearny. Applicable fishing permits are required. Permits may be purchased at OutdoorNebraska.org.
