“Daddy Sang Bass. . . “

My Grandpa Bauer could pick up several instruments and play them, by ear.  I am told he and his brothers had a little band and played some barn dances and gigs like that in western Nebraska.  Man, what I wouldn’t give to hop in a time machine and travel back to listen to them play.  My Gramps Roth played the harmonica.

Apparently, that music vein did not branch out into either limbs of my Bauer or Roth family trees.  I can play a pretty sweet tune on a turkey call, but that’s about it.  When I was younger, I had a wild idea about playing the banjo, and I started guitar lessons once upon a time.  I gave it up because it interfered with my fishing, hunting and trapping.  Maybe if I had played the bass I would have been more serious about it.

Ha.

This one sounds about right.

Remember, you can tune a piano, but you can’t tuna fish.

Have a great weekend everyone, GO HUSKERS and don’t forget to GO FISH!
